Protection of personal data is one of the most crucial issues. Related questions arise every time when talking about biometrics.

In Germany rules for handling and treatment of personal data are established by the Innenministerium (Ministry of Interior). It-werke was in close contact with these authorities, throughout the design and development phase of the digiPROOF system. Thus all requirements could be considered.

In 2003 it-werke was certified that its´ biometric payment system digiPROOF is in line with existing rules and regulations for data protection.

It-werke considers data protection as indispensable and strives for maximal transparency. Customers have full information about nature and use of data. Treatment and analysis are subject to prior written consent of data owners. Any use going beyond signed agreements, is excluded.
